In JavaScript, using the addEventListener()
method:
object.addEventListener("dragenter",
myScript);
This example uses the addEventListener()
method to attach "dragstart", "dragenter", "dragleave", "dragover" and "drop" events to the document object.
Drag the p element back and forth between the two rectangles:
<!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <style> .droptarget { float: left; width: 100px; height: 35px; margin: 15px; margin-right: 100px; padding: 10px; border: 1px solid #aaaaaa; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="droptarget"> <p draggable="true" id="dragtarget">Drag me!</p> </div> <div class="droptarget"></div> <p id="demo"></p> <script> document.addEventListener("dragstart", function(event) { event.dataTransfer.setData("Text", event.target.id); }); document.addEventListener("dragenter", function(event) { if ( event.target.className == "droptarget" ) { document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = "Entered the dropzone"; event.target.style.backgroundColor = "lightblue"; } }); document.addEventListener("dragover", function(event) { event.preventDefault(); }); document.addEventListener("dragleave", function(event) { if ( event.target.className == "droptarget" ) { document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = "Left the dropzone"; event.target.style.backgroundColor = ""; } }); document.addEventListener("drop", function(event) { event.preventDefault(); if ( event.target.className == "droptarget" ) { event.target.style.backgroundColor = ""; var data = event.dataTransfer.getData("Text"); event.target.appendChild(document.getElementById(data)); } }); </script> </body> </html>
