The Oracle/PLSQL LOWER function converts all letters in the specified string to lowercase.
For non-characters in the string, they are unaffected by this function.
LOWER
converts every letter of a string to lowercase.
The general format for this function is:
LOWER(string)
The syntax for the Oracle/PLSQL LOWER function is:
LOWER( string1 )
string1 is the string to convert to lowercase.
SQL> SELECT LOWER('LOWERCASE') FROM dual;

lowercase

The following query gets the employee's name in lower case:
